That's why Huw is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week across Sandbanks, Lilliput, Branksome Park, Canford Cliffs and the surrounding areas. Our pricing is more than good value based on the quality of workmanship; we only charge for our productive time so you can be confident in a clear, fair bill.

Boiler Service and Repair Specialist

A boiler that's playing up is more than an inconvenience.

We do not charge a call-out fee and in the unlikely event we cannot correctly diagnose or repair your issue, there is no charge.

Huw's depth of experience in heating systems allows him to diagnose problems methodically, explain the cause clearly, and recommend the most appropriate repair.

We take the same thorough approach to boiler servicing. Rather than treating a service as a brief visual check we carefully inspect, test, and assess the boiler and its operation, completing the work to a standard that goes beyond the minimum commonly offered.

Our aim is not simply to leave the boiler running. It is to identify developing problems, check the appliance is operating safely and efficiently, and give you an honest understanding of its condition.

All repair work is fully insured and guaranteed, so you can have complete confidence in every job we do.

Huw Jenkins — Founder & Lead Plumber/Heating Engineer

Huw brings 15 years of hands-on experience in plumbing and heating to every job he takes on. Qualified to City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 and a proud member of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE), he's the kind of tradesman who takes his craft seriously — not just the technical side, but the standards, the honesty, and the care that go with it.

Originally from Wales, Huw built a strong reputation over a decade as Thornhill Plumbing & Heating before relocating to Poole in 2022.

Huw is a four-time regional winner at the prestigious Heating Installer Awards; He was also a semi-finalist in Screwfix Top Tradesperson and has been featured several times in the South Wales Echo and Bournemouth Echo.

Alongside his work with customers, Huw remains active within the industry as a judge and founding contributor to the Plumber Awards and through work helping to shape future plumbing qualifications.


Lola — Apprentice Plumber

Lola joined the team when she was 16 years old and quickly made herself an indispensable part of it.

Lola is completing her plumbing apprenticeship through a structured programme of college-based learning, supervised on-the-job training and regular mentoring from Huw. Both continue to invest in further technical training to keep their knowledge current and maintain the high standards expected of Sandbanks Plumber.

Lola is on a journey of what promises to be a great career in the trade.

Which areas do you work?

We're based in Hamworthy (BH15) and work primarily across the BH13, BH14 and BH15 postcode areas, covering Sandbanks, Lilliput, Branksome Park, Canford Cliffs and Lower Parkstone.

Are you qualified and insured?

Yes. We are Gas Safe Registered, NVQ Level 3 qualified, and are a member of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) along with many other plumbing certifications.

We are fully insured and our public liability insurance covers us for up to £10 million.

All our work is fully guaranteed for your peace of mind. If there any issues with our work we return free of charge ASAP; we pride ourselves on our aftercare.

How often should I schedule plumbing maintenance for my home?

Regular plumbing maintenance is essential to prevent unexpected issues and prolong the lifespan of your plumbing system, including your boiler. We recommend scheduling a central heating service annually to ensure safety, identify potential issues and to check everything is functioning efficiently. This proactive approach helps identify and address potential problems before they become major, saving you money and preventing inconveniences down the road.

Are your rates the lowest?

No. But our pricing is more than fair based on the quality of workmanship. The reason behind our hundreds of 5 Star reviews and why so many customers have us back is because we pride ourselves on not cutting corners. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is true in plumbing as well. If you pay a fair price and have the work done right the first time, it always ends up cheaper in the long run.

What are your rates?

Most of our work is done on an hourly rate. Our only fixed price work is Boiler service , gas safety certificates and boiler replacement/heating installation.

Larger jobs require a visit to accurately quote.

Lola and I provide a high-quality, efficient service and work cleanly with the utmost respect for you and your property.

STANDARD FEE

The standard fee for myself and Lola is £100 for the first hour and £20 per quarter hour thereafter.

Our standard bookings are available Tuesday through Thursday. 

For your peace of mind if we are unable to correctly diagnose or repair your issue (very unlikely), there is no charge.

VIP SERVICE FEE

 For a faster solution, I offer a VIP service for same-day or emergency bookings from Monday to Friday. This is subject to my availability and is charged at x1.5 the standard rate.

Mondays and Fridays are set aside for tool/stock organisation and training. This enables us to work more efficiently and also allows us to be available on those days for priority (VIP) bookings and emergency calls. 

OUT OF HOURS FEES

My fee for all out-of-hours (4-10pm)and weekend bookings are x2 the standard rate. 

I try my very best to keep any higher rate work to under 1 hour. You get just myself so have my full undivided attention.

I am fully qualified, insured, and dedicated to providing meticulous repairs and excellent aftercare.

I only charge for my productive time on the job, so you can be confident in a clear, fair bill.

How does your scheduling work?

We offer three appointment slots each day:

First appointment: fixed arrival at 8am.

Second appointment: arrival between 9am and 12 noon.

Third appointment: arrival between 11am and 4pm.

Because plumbing and heating work can be unpredictable, we cannot guarantee an exact arrival time for the second and third appointments. If an earlier job develops unforeseen complications, the third appointment may occasionally need to be rearranged.

However, we will send you a text approximately 30 minutes before arrival, so you do not need to wait at home throughout the full appointment window.

What is your no fix, no fee policy?

We do not charge a call-out fee and in the unlikely event we cannot correctly diagnose or repair your issue, there is no charge.

Who will be carrying out the work?

You can be assured that our lead engineer Huw, is in attendance at every job we carry out.

Do you offer round the clock emergency service?

Yes. We will chat with you before coming out to make sure it is an emergency first to save you money, but if it is truly an emergency, you can count on us to be there in a timely manner to get you sorted.
